Classically designed, flawlessly tailored accessories have become the most widely popular of my Kimono Designs. Choose from several styles of handbags, in colors ranging from natural earthtones to jewel hues and pastels. Most handbags have bright contrasting linings to blend with the kimono and obi that give each one its characteristic elegance. Some handbags are also available with fused art glass buttons at a slightly higher price.
All handbags are designed and constructed with a distinctive difference. They hold their shape through daily use and contain extras that make them stand out in a crowd. It’s these extras and this durability that have made Kimono Designs handbags a popular and practical collector’s item.
Small & Smaller Handbags

The Small or Smaller Handbag becomes the star of the show whether you take it to the afternoon matinee or opening night. The kimono or obi designs are accented with contrasting black piping against the black cotton twill background of the handbag. Each handbag uses a unique, complementary closure (button, tassel or coin) and is lined in a contrasting colored satin fabric. The 50” long shoulder strap is rayon twist cording.
Colors available: naturals, jewel tones, pastels, or the most popular – all black with tone-on-tone print.

Flirty Fan
Panels of kimono or obi recycled fabric alternate with black raw silk in a traditional Japanese fan design for a truly one-of-a-kind accessory. Each fan bag is decorated with a tassel, contrasting colored satin lining and has a 50” shoulder strap. The black nylon zipper has a pull that is both decorative and easy to grasp. Casual and roomy, this bag pulls open easily, yet its spring frame keeps your valuable possessions securely inside. Each bag is made of black cotton twill and features a variety of recycled kimono fabrics creating a band of vibrant color across the front. Bags are accented with beads and charms and lined in a colorful satin fabric. Shoulder cord can be 48” long or instantly converted into a double 24” cord. This simply tailored zippered handbag is made from a wide variety of durable tone-on-tone patterned upholstery fabric. The focal point of recycled kimono fabric is framed by black piping and accented with beads. Black twill fabric with 3 pockets line the inside. 25” fabric handles in either matching upholstery fabric or black twill. Durable structure holds its shape with lightweight plastic base encased inside the lining. Black nylon zipper closure.

Petite and fun outside but roomy and strong inside, this black cotton twill handbag is practical and chic. The gusset sewn in the bottom adds extra width and durability, and a panel of vintage kimono or obi fabric adds a dash of distinctive color; black piping accents the bottom with beads or a charm. These classy totes are constructed from upholstery fabric, heavy enough to carry the load, but accented with a band of gorgeous color created from dozens of vintage Japanese kimonos. Each tote bag is embellished with beads, coins or charms. Both totes hold their shape supported by heavy interfacing that give them structure, even when empty, for easy access and loading. Three inner pockets keep things organized and an easy-grip zipper provides security and privacy. Sturdy 25” x 1” fabric handles allow hands-free shoulder toting, and lined in black cotton twill.
